Happy Anniversary to St. Matthews Church. We were 65 years young this September. We celebrated at our 10:00 AM service on Sunday, September 16, and stayed for the celebration.

Every five years we celebrate this memorial, and this year we are inviting you to take part in our "65 for 65" campaign. We are hoping to raise funds for long term maintenance needs that are rapidly approaching. We are suggesting that we donate 65 pennies or 65 nickels or 65 quarters, and of course you may follow that 65-pattern up to the range that's appropriate for your gift. Our roof is aging and will need replacing and painting always needs to be done along with other expensive repairs. Our recent parking lot sale gave us a good start, thank you to those who participated, but we have a ways to go.

Remember 65 in 65.

A month full of exciting activities begins with Friendship Sunday and Rally Day on September 13th. Bring a friend, a relative, a neighbor and enjoy an old fashioned ice cream social!

September 27th celebrates the always anticipated “Blessing of the Animals” service in our beautiful courtyard. Bring your dog, cat, ferret, gerbil, bunny and bird and have them receive this special annual blessing.

June—September 2009
Pastor Banwart bases his summer series of messages “The Disney Bible” on the book “The Gospel in Disney.” This is a “sermon friendly” series to be appreciated by the entire family – young and old.

March 2008
Join us for a night of fun and fellowship as the people of St. Matthew's Church come together with our neighbors and friends to enjoy Roger's & Hammerstein's classic film, The Sound of Music. Sunday, March 30, 2008 at 6:00 pm.

March 2007

Get ready for a wonderful, full weekend, March 24 and March 25 (that's Saturday and Sunday).

Saturday is our Giant Yard Sale. 7:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Come and have a great time visiting old friends, meeting visitors who are looking over the treasures we have to sell, and meeting some new friends from one of the other worship services at St. Matthew's. March 24th, see you then.

And Sunday afternoon, actually 11:00 AM through 2:00 PM--or maybe later if we are having enough fun--we have invited Lutheran Health Ministries of the Foothills to host an important event on the campus of St. Matthew's. We are hosting a Pharmacy Fair. Several pharmacists associated with Glendale Adventist Medical Center will provide free advice on your medication levels, any potential interactions among them, and counseling about your pharmaceutical concerns. We will have free blood pressure testing and medical services information. Bring your pill bottles so the pharmacists will be able to give you accurate advice. March 25th, see you then.
